Foes met, foes felled, and the times it went the other way.

Day 1 · October 16, 2026

Waking Cold in Deathknell

The northern part of the village was overrun, and I went to meet the Mindless Ones. I cut down eleven foes in all: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies, and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. They were slow, shambling things, and it was grim work to destroy what might once have been our own kind. By the end I felt stronger for it.

Waking Cold in Deathknell

The northern part of the village was crawling with the Mindless Ones, and I went at them with my magic. By day's end I had put down eleven foes: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. My arms ached with a strange, cold weariness when it was done. I felt stronger for it too.

Day 1 · October 16, 2026

Waking Cold in Deathknell

The northern part of the village is crawling with the Mindless Ones, and I went at them with what strength I had. By the end I had put down eleven foes in the Glades: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies, and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. They are slow and groaning things, and it is a strange business to strike down creatures that were once people. I do not yet know how many more the village needs me to destroy.

Day 1 · October 16, 2026

Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell

Once Sarvis had set me to it, I went north through the village and hunted the Mindless Ones. By the end of the day I had put down eleven of them: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies, and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. They were slow, hollow things, and there was no mercy in the work, as Sarvis had asked. Somewhere in the middle of it I felt myself grow stronger.

Day 1 · October 16, 2026

Waking Among the Dead at Deathknell

The northern edge of the village was crawling with the Mindless Ones, and I went at them with what I had. By day's end I had put down eleven foes: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies, and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. Somewhere in the work I felt a new strength settle into me.

Day 1 · October 16, 2026

Waking Among the Dead at Deathknell

The northern part of the village was thick with the Mindless Ones, and I set about the work with a will. By the end I had put down eleven of them: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies, and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. The count falls short of what Sarvis asked for, so that work is not yet done.

Day 1 · October 16, 2026

Waking Among the Dead at Deathknell

The northern part of the village was thick with the Mindless Ones, and I did not spare them. Before the day ended I had put down seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies and one Rattlecage Skeleton. It was clumsy work at first, but my hands grew steadier with each one that fell. My skill with my staff and my guard against blows both sharpened a little as I fought.

By day's end I had put down eleven foes in the glades: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. They were slow and hollow, and I felt little for them. I will not pretend it was nothing to strike down what had once been people.
