Privacy
The short of it: if you only read, we keep nothing that knows you. If you sign in, we keep only what the fireside needs, and one button erases it all.

If you only read
Nothing that could tell us who you are. No cookies, no tracking scripts and no ads. Our fonts, styles and artwork are all served from this site.
If you bind a hearthstone
We keep your hero's name, the face, calling and realm you chose, the public half of your passkey, when you joined and last signed in, and the words you share by the fire. The private half of your passkey never leaves your device, and we never see your fingerprint, your face or your PIN. We never ask for your email.
Two small cookies keep you signed in: one the page's scripts cannot read, and one that only says "signed in" so the page knows to show your name. They last sixty days, and signing out removes them.
Keeping the fire safe
To slow floods of fake accounts, we count how many travelers join from each network each day. The count is kept under a salted, one-way code that changes daily, never under your IP address, and it is deleted after two days. Comments that three travelers report are hidden until a warden looks at them.
Erasing it
The Erase my account button on your account page deletes your account, your passkeys and every comment you've written, at once and for good.
Children
Forever in Azeroth is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep anything about them.
What other companies see
The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and turn away attacks. News thumbnails load from each publisher's own servers, and video thumbnails from YouTube's image servers. The YouTube player itself, in privacy-enhanced mode, loads only when you press play.
When Battle.net arrives
Blizzard sign-in isn't connected yet. Before it is, this page will say exactly what we keep from it (for example your BattleTag and the character you choose to show), why, and for how long. Character data from Blizzard will be refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days, as Blizzard requires.
