Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell
Newly woken among the Forsaken, I took my first orders, cut down eleven of the mindless dead, and learned a sharper way of thinking.
The Road
I came to myself in Shadow Grave and stepped out into Deathknell, in the Tirisfal Glades, under a midday sky that gave no warmth. I stopped a moment to take in the place. It was the first I had seen of the world as one of the Forsaken.
Battles
The northern part of the village was crawling with the Mindless Ones, and I went at them with what I had. By the end I had put down eleven foes: seven Mindless Zombies, three Wretched Zombies and a single Rattlecage Skeleton. My arms ached from it, and the cold didn't trouble me at all.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task. "About time you woke up," he said. He told me I was the Lich King's slave no more, and sent me down the hill to Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel.
Sarvis took my report and explained our situation. We have been freed from the Lich King by Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, and we now fight the Scourge and the humans who hound us. Then he gave me a second task. The Mindless Ones had overrun the north of the village, and he wanted eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies destroyed, with no mercy shown. I have not finished it. Seven of the first kind and three of the second are down.
Fellowship
I spoke with no one but the dead and the Forsaken who gave me orders. Mordo, Sarvis and Isabella, the mage trainer, each greeted me in their own way. Sarvis said no other race has suffered as we have, and that laughing in the face of death has become second nature to us.
Growth
Somewhere in the thick of the fighting I felt a new strength settle into me. Afterward I sought out Isabella, the undead mage trainer, and she taught me Arcane Intellect. My guard and my skill with a staff both improved a little from the fighting.
