Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell
I woke free of the Lich King's grip, took my first tasks in Deathknell, and began cutting down the mindless dead.
The Road
I came to myself at Shadow Grave in the pale light of dawn, and I stood a moment just to take in the sight of it. Then I made my way to Deathknell, where the dawn was still thin over Tirisfal Glades. The air was cold and the place was quiet.
Battles
The northern part of the village was crawling with the Mindless Ones, so I went to work. By the end I had put down six foes in all: four Mindless Zombies, a Wretched Zombie, and a Young Scavenger. It was a modest tally, but it was my first.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task. "About time you woke up," he said, and he told me I was the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me down to the chapel at the base of the hill to speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis, and I did, which finished Rude Awakening.
Sarvis spoke of the Dark Lady, Lady Sylvanas, who had freed us from the Lich King's control. Then he gave me a new charge, The Mindless Ones. I am to destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies, and show them no mercy. I have not finished it yet. Five of those zombies are down, and eight of each kind are still needed.
Fellowship
I spoke with no one but the dead and the half-dead today. Sarvis greeted me as one of the walking dead and said that to laugh in the face of death had become second nature to our people. In the chapel, David Trias spoke of the Deathstalkers growing in number under Lord Varimathras. Margaret Weaver said something to me in a tongue I could not follow.
Growth
By the end of the fighting my skill with daggers had risen to 5. My hands are learning what they are for.
