Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell

I woke among the Forsaken, learned I was the Lich King's slave no more, and swung my daggers at the first of the Mindless Ones.

The Road

Dawn was thin over Tirisfal Glades when I first took in the view at Shadow Grave, and I paused a moment to let it settle on me. A little later I came to Deathknell, the village whose crypt had been my waking place. The light was pale, the air cold, and I felt no warmer for it.

Battles

The northern part of the village crawls with the Mindless Ones, and I went at them. When the work was done I had put down four Mindless Zombies and one Wretched Zombie. A Young Scavenger also fell to my blades. Six foes in all, and I still stand.

Deeds

Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task. "About time you woke up," he said. He told me he was caretaker of the crypt, and that I was the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me to Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill. Sarvis took my report of arrival and called me another of the walking dead. He explained that Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, had freed us from the Lich King's control, and that we now war against the Scourge and the humans who dog our steps. That finished my first errand, Rude Awakening.

Sarvis then set me a second, The Mindless Ones. I am to destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies, and show them no mercy, for the Fallen are nothing but the Lich King's slaves. I have not finished it yet. Five of the zombies are down.

Fellowship

In the chapel Sarvis greeted me as "rogue" and said that to laugh in the face of death had become second nature for all of us. David Trias spoke of the Deathstalkers, whose numbers grow with Lord Varimathras's sanction, more blades to strike at our enemies when they least expect it. Margaret Weaver spoke to me in a tongue I could not follow.

Growth

By the end of the fighting my skill with daggers had risen to 5. The blades feel a little more like part of my hand.
