Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell
I woke among the Forsaken, learned I was the Lich King's slave no more, and took up my daggers against the mindless dead of Deathknell.
The Road
Dawn light was thin over Tirisfal Glades when I first took in the view of Shadow Grave. I paused there a moment, simply to look. Soon after I came down to Deathknell, still under the same pale dawn, and the little village became my first footing in this new, cold existence.
Battles
The northern part of the village crawls with the Mindless Ones, and I went to meet them. By the end I had put down four Mindless Zombies and one Wretched Zombie, plus a Young Scavenger that crossed my path in the glades. It was not much, but my hands are learning what they are for.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me they had been ready to toss me into the fire with the others. He is caretaker of the crypt of Deathknell, and he told me I am the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me to Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill.
Sarvis called me "rogue" and said laughing in the face of death has become second nature to our people. When I had spoken with him, my first task was done. He explained that Lady Sylvanas has freed us from the Lich King's control, and that the Dark Lady guides us in our war against the Scourge and the humans who dog our steps.
Then he gave me a new request, The Mindless Ones. I am to destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies, and to show them no mercy. So far I have felled four of the one and one of the other.
Fellowship
In the chapel I was greeted by a few of the Forsaken. David Trias spoke of the Deathstalkers' growing numbers, with the sanction of Lord Varimathras, and of more blades to strike at our enemies when they least expect it. Margaret Weaver spoke to me in a tongue I could not follow at all.
Growth
By the end of the fighting my skill with daggers had risen to 5. The blades feel a little more like part of my arm.
