Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell

A newly risen rogue finds Shadow Grave, meets the Forsaken of Deathknell, and sets dagger to the Mindless Ones before the day is out.

The Road

The dawn found me at Shadow Grave, and I stopped there a while just to take in the view. The light was thin and pale, and I am still learning what it means to stand in it as one of the dead. A little later I came down to Deathknell, a village of the Forsaken in Tirisfal Glades, still under the same early light.

Battles

The northern part of the village is overrun with the Mindless Ones, and I did not shy from them. By the end I had put down four Mindless Zombies and one Wretched Zombie. A Young Scavenger fell to my blades as well. It was a small tally, but my hands are learning their work.

Deeds

Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me I was the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me to speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill. I did, and the task was done. Sarvis spoke of the Forsaken freed from the Lich King by Lady Sylvanas, and of our war against the Scourge and the humans who dog our steps. Then he gave me another: to destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies in the north of the village. I have not finished it. Five of those foes are down so far, though the record does not say how many of each count toward it.

Fellowship

I met a few of my new people about the chapel. David Trias spoke of the Deathstalkers growing in number with the sanction of Lord Varimathras, more blades to strike at our enemies when they least expect it. That suited me. Margaret Weaver spoke to me too, but in a tongue I could not follow.

Growth

My skill with daggers rose to 5. It is a small thing, but I felt it in my grip.
