Waking Dead in Deathknell
I woke a free soul among the Forsaken, learned who we are, and took my first blade-work against the Mindless Ones of Deathknell.
The Road
Dawn light, thin and grey, met me at Shadow Grave, and I stopped a moment to take in the sight of it before moving on. Not long after I came down into Deathknell, where the air was cold and the crypt-keepers went about their work. It was all new to me, and I walked it with the careful steps of someone still learning her own bones.
Battles
The northern part of the village is overrun, and I went to meet the trouble. By the end I had put down four Mindless Zombies and one Wretched Zombie, along with a Young Scavenger that crossed my path in the Tirisfal Glades. Small work, but my daggers grew surer with every blow.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo was the first to speak to me. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me I was the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me to Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill, and there I finished that first request, Rude Awakening.
Sarvis spoke of the Forsaken freed by Lady Sylvanas, and of our war with the Scourge and the humans who dog our steps. Then he gave me a new charge, The Mindless Ones: destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies, and show them no mercy. I have only begun it. Five of those foes are down, and the tally is not yet whole.
Fellowship
In the chapel and its yard I met a few of my new people. Sarvis told me that no race has suffered as ours has, and that laughing in the face of death has become second nature to us. A man named David Trias spoke of the Deathstalkers growing in number under Lord Varimathras. A woman named Margaret Weaver spoke to me in a tongue I could not follow.
Growth
My skill with daggers rose to 5. It is a small thing, but I felt the blades sit a little easier in my hands.
