Waking Cold in Deathknell
A new Forsaken rogue rises from the crypt, learns he is free of the Lich King, and begins cutting down the Mindless Ones.
The Road
Dawn light lay over Tirisfal Glades when I first took in the view of Shadow Grave. I paused there a moment, the air cold and still around me. Not long after, I came down into Deathknell, the little village still gray with morning.
Battles
The northern edge of the village is overrun, and I did my share of the cutting. Four Mindless Zombies fell to my blades, and one Wretched Zombie. A Young Scavenger crossed my path as well, and it fell with the rest. Six foes in all, and I walked away from every one of them.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me I was the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me to Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill. Sarvis took my report. He called me another of the walking dead and explained that Lady Sylvanas had freed us, and that the Forsaken now war against the Scourge. Then he gave me a new charge, The Mindless Ones. The northern part of the village is overrun, and he wants eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies destroyed, with no mercy. I have only begun that work.
Fellowship
In the chapel, Sarvis greeted me as a rogue and said that laughing in the face of death has become second nature to our people. David Trias spoke of the Deathstalkers, whose numbers grow with Lord Varimathras's sanction, more blades to strike at our enemies unseen. Margaret Weaver spoke to me in a tongue I could not follow.
Growth
My skill with daggers grew a little, to five. It is a small thing, but my hand felt surer on the hilt.
