First Steps Among the Forsaken at Deathknell
I woke free of the Lich King's chains, met the caretaker of Deathknell, and took up my daggers against the Mindless Ones.
The Road
The day began at Shadow Grave in Tirisfal Glades, at dawn. I stopped a moment to take in the view, the cold light on a land I did not yet know. Then I made my way to Deathknell, and the little village was mine to look over as the morning wore on.
Battles
Six foes fell to my blades before the day was done: four Mindless Zombies, a Wretched Zombie, and a Young Scavenger. They were clumsy, grim work, but I walked away from each one. My daggers are learning where the dead are soft.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo gave me my first request, Rude Awakening. He said it was "about time" I woke, and that they had been ready to toss me into the fire with the others. He told me I was the Lich King's slave no more, and sent me to Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill. I went, and Sarvis took my report. He spoke of the Dark Lady, Sylvanas, who freed us from the Lich King and leads us against the Scourge and the humans who dog our steps. That finished the task.
Sarvis then gave me another, The Mindless Ones. The north of the village is overrun, and he wants eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies destroyed, with no mercy for those who were once our brothers and sisters. I have felled four of the first kind and one of the second, so the task is not yet done.
Fellowship
In the chapel I was greeted by a few of the Forsaken. Sarvis said no other people have suffered as much as ours, and that laughing in the face of death has become second nature. David Trias spoke of the Deathstalkers growing in number with Lord Varimathras's sanction, more blades to strike at our enemies when they least expect it. Margaret Weaver spoke to me in a tongue I could not follow.
Growth
My skill with daggers rose to 5. It is a small thing, but my hands moved more surely afterward.
