Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell

A paladin wakes among the Forsaken, learns he is the Lich King's slave no more, and is sent to cleanse the village of the Mindless Ones.

The Road

The first thing I knew of the world was Shadow Grave, glimpsed in the pale light of dawn, and I stopped a moment to take it in. Some minutes later I came to Deathknell, in the Tirisfal Glades, and paused again to look upon the place. Dawn lay thin and gray over both.

Battles

No blow was struck today. Yet the task I carry away speaks of the fights to come: eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies, loose in the northern part of the village.

Deeds

At Deathknell, Undertaker Mordo gave me my first request. "About time you woke up," he said. He told me he was caretaker of the crypt, that they had nearly tossed me into the fire with the others, and that I was the Lich King's slave no more. He bade me speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill.

Sarvis greeted me as a paladin and said that no other people has suffered as ours has, and that laughing in the face of death had become second nature to us. He called me one of the walking dead and spoke of the shock of waking in a crypt with only the cold and Mordo to greet me. He explained that Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, had freed us from the Lich King's control, and that we now war against the Scourge and the humans who dog our steps. That finished the first request.

He then set me another, The Mindless Ones. The northern part of the village is overrun, and he wants them destroyed without mercy, for the Fallen are nothing but the Lich King's slaves. Eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies are what he asks of me.

Fellowship

Aramis Hammerhand welcomed me back to the light as a friend and asked whether I needed training.
