Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell
A paladin of the Forsaken rises at dawn in Tirisfal Glades, meets the caretaker Mordo, and learns of Sylvanas and the Mindless Ones.
The Road
Dawn found me in Shadow Grave, and I stood a while taking in the sight of it, the cold air heavy and strange around me. A few minutes later I came down to Deathknell, still in the pale morning light of Tirisfal Glades, and paused again to take it in.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task at Deathknell. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me they had been ready to toss me into the fire with the others. He is the caretaker of the crypt, and he told me I was the Lich King's slave no more. I was to speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill.
I did, and that task was done. Sarvis called me another of the walking dead, and said waking in the crypt with only the cold and Mordo to greet me must have been a shock. He saw the confusion on my face. He explained that Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, has freed us from the Lich King's control, and that we now war against the Scourge and the holdouts of humanity who dog our every step.
He then set me a new charge, The Mindless Ones. The northern part of the village is overrun, and I am to destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies, showing them no mercy, though they were once our brothers and sisters. I have not yet begun.
Fellowship
Sarvis greeted me as a paladin and said that no other race on Azeroth has suffered as much as ours, and that laughing in the face of death has become second nature to us. Afterward Aramis Hammerhand welcomed me "back to the light" and asked whether I required training.
