Waking in the Crypt at Deathknell
I woke among the Forsaken, freed from the Lich King's chains, and found a village already at war with its own mindless dead.
The Road
Dawn was only just breaking over Tirisfal Glades when I came to myself at Shadow Grave, and I stood a moment taking in the cold, gray view of it. Some minutes later I reached Deathknell, the little village on the hill, and paused again to look it over before going on.
Deeds
At Deathknell, Undertaker Mordo gave me my first request. "About time you woke up," he said, or near enough. He told me they had been ready to toss me into the fire with the others, that I was the Lich King's slave no more, and that I should speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill.
Sarvis took my report of that and counted the task done. He called me another of the walking dead and spoke of the shock of waking in the crypt with only the cold and Mordo to greet me. He explained that Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, has freed us from the Lich King's control, and that we now war against the Scourge and the holdouts of humanity who dog our steps.
Then he gave me a new charge: the northern part of the village is overrun with the Mindless Ones, and I am to destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies. Show them no mercy, he said, for they are only the Lich King's slaves now.
Fellowship
Sarvis greeted me as a paladin and remarked that no other people on Azeroth has suffered as we have, and that laughing in the face of death has become second nature to us. Before I left the chapel, Aramis Hammerhand welcomed me back to the light and asked if I required training.
