Waking Cold in Deathknell
A Forsaken paladin rises at dawn in Tirisfal Glades, learns who freed him, and is handed a grim duty against the mindless dead.
The Road
The day began at Shadow Grave, in Tirisfal Glades, with the dawn light thin and grey over the ground. I stopped a while to take in the place. A few minutes later I came to Deathknell and stood again to look it over, the morning cold on my bones.
Deeds
Undertaker Mordo gave me the first task. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me they had been ready to toss me into the fire with the others. He named himself caretaker of the crypt of Deathknell and said I was the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me to speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill. That was Rude Awakening, and I finished it there.
Sarvis called me another of the walking dead and said waking in the crypt with only the cold and Mordo must have been a shock. He explained that Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, had freed us from the Lich King. She now leads us in the war against the Scourge and the holdouts of humanity who dog our steps.
Then he gave me a new charge, The Mindless Ones. The north of the village is overrun, and he wants eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies destroyed. He asked for no mercy, since they are only the Lich King's slaves now, whatever they were before.
Fellowship
Sarvis greeted me as a paladin and said no other race on Azeroth has suffered as much as ours. To laugh in the face of death, he said, has become second nature to us all. Nearby, Aramis Hammerhand welcomed me back to the light and asked whether I needed training.
