Waking Cold in Deathknell

A Forsaken paladin rises at dawn in Tirisfal Glades, is freed from the Lich King's grip, and receives a grim charge to cleanse the village.

The Road

Dawn found me at Shadow Grave in the Tirisfal Glades, and I stopped a moment to take in the cold, grey view of it. A few minutes later I came down to Deathknell, and I paused again to look over the little village that would be my first footing in this strange second life.

Deeds

Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me they had been ready to toss me into the fire with the others. He is the caretaker of the crypt of Deathknell, and he named me the Lich King's slave no more. He bade me speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill.

I did, and that task was done. Sarvis called me another of the walking dead and spoke of the shock of waking in the crypt with only the cold and Mordo to greet me. He explained that Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, has freed us from the Lich King's control and leads us in war against the Scourge and the holdouts of humanity who dog our steps.

He then set me a new charge, The Mindless Ones. The northern part of the village is overrun, and he wants eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies destroyed, with no mercy shown to what were once our brothers and sisters. "The Fallen are nothing but The Lich King's slaves," he said.

Fellowship

Sarvis greeted me as a paladin and said no other race on Azeroth has suffered as much as ours, and that laughing in the face of death has become second nature to us. Near the chapel, Aramis Hammerhand welcomed me back to the light and asked whether I needed training.
