Waking Cold in Deathknell

A Forsaken paladin rises at dawn in Tirisfal Glades, learns who freed him, and is handed a grim duty against the Mindless Ones.

The Road

I came to myself at dawn in Shadow Grave, in the Tirisfal Glades, and stood a while taking in the cold quiet of the place. A few minutes on, I reached Deathknell and paused again to look it over, the gray morning pressing down on the village.

Deeds

Undertaker Mordo gave me my first task in Deathknell. "About time you woke up," he said, and told me they had been ready to toss me into the fire with the others. He is caretaker of the crypt, and he told me I was the Lich King's slave no more. He sent me to speak with Shadow Priest Sarvis in the chapel at the base of the hill.

Sarvis called me one more of the walking dead. He explained that the Forsaken have been freed from the Lich King by Lady Sylvanas, the Dark Lady, who leads us in war against the Scourge and the holdouts of humanity. That finished the request from Mordo.

He then set me a new one, The Mindless Ones. The northern part of the village is overrun, and I am to destroy eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies. Sarvis said to show them no mercy, whatever they were once, for the Fallen are only the Lich King's slaves.

Fellowship

Sarvis greeted me as a paladin and said no other people on Azeroth have suffered as much as ours. To laugh in the face of death, he said, has become second nature to us. Aramis Hammerhand welcomed me back to the light and asked if I needed training.
