Five Falls in the Dark of Duskwood

A brief morning in Brill turned into a long journey by zeppelin and gryphon, and five times I fell to unseen hands before finding my way home.

The Road

I woke the day in Brill, still before dawn, with the Gallows' End Tavern close at hand. From there I walked through the Ruins of Lordaeron, where the zeppelin tower stands, and past Balnir Farmstead. Then I crossed the water to the Savage Coast and the Vile Reef in Stranglethorn Vale, and came at last to Grom'gol Base Camp. I paused there to take in the view, and I rested a while. I met the flight master, so I can fly from there now. A gryphon... no, the flight master's mount carried me on, and I saw Stranglethorn Vale spread out before me.

Later I came to Duskwood, and then to Raven Hill and its cemetery. Dark country, and I did not know it. By the end I was back in Brill, and I rested again at Gallows' End.

Battles

The record shows few fights. I put down two Cursed Darkhounds and two Greater Duskbats in all. The deaths are the larger tale. I fell five times: once in Stranglethorn Vale, then in Duskwood, again in Duskwood, and twice more at Raven Hill and its cemetery. Each time something unseen struck me down. In Stranglethorn Vale the Spirit Healer told me it was not yet my time, and offered to help me back for a price.

Deeds

In Brill I took up a great many requests. Executor Zygand gave me three. One was to kill ten Scarlet Warriors. One was to fetch the reports of Deathguard Dillinger, Deathguard Kristof and the abomination Gordo; he said his patience had run out. The third was to punish five Deathguards, and he asked, "Alexander, is it?" in a tone that promised a ledger. Apothecary Johaan wanted five vials of darkhound blood for a new plague, and gave me a laced pumpkin for a captured Scarlet Zealot held in the tavern cellar. Carolai Anise asked for eight bottles of Whispering Elixir from the ruins of Shadowvale. Magistrate Sevren sent me after the Rot Hide gnolls for eight Embalming Ichors.

I carried the pumpkin to the cellar and finished Fields of Grief. The Zealot cried out that he was rotting. In Duskwood I finished An Unfortunate End. The Night Watchman lay there, torn by some large beast, and I took the unlit torch from his stiff fingers.

Fellowship

No one walked beside me. Zapetta spoke to me by the tower and begged me to bring her something to eat from Orgrimmar. Hin Denburg pressed me to ride his flying machine toward Grom'gol. In Duskwood, Stitches and Watcher Cutford were shouting in the dark. I did not understand a word of it. Nurse Neela offered to train me in First Aid.

Spoils & Craft

The Night Watchman's Torch, an uncommon find, came to me in Duskwood. It is the only thing the record counts as spoils.
