A Paladin Risen in Deathknell, Walking to Undercity

A newly risen paladin finds the light again amid the Forsaken, clears spiders and Scarlet zealots, and ends the day at Gallows' End Tavern.

The Road

I woke to Deathknell before dawn, among the Forsaken, and the day carried me far from it. I went northwest to Night Web's Hollow, which I found as the light was breaking, then back to Deathknell. From there I took the road into Tirisfal Glades proper and passed Solliden Farmstead, Cold Hearth Manor and Stillwater Pond on my way to Brill.

In Brill I found the Gallows' End Tavern and, later, the Town Hall. North of the town lay Garren's Haunt. Later I walked on to the Ruins of Lordaeron and down into Undercity, where I wandered the Trade Quarter, the Canals, the War Quarter, the Sewers, the Apothecarium, the Rogues' Quarter and the Magic Quarter. I returned to the surface and to the tavern, and there I made my home. The inn's welcome was a gruff one, but I was glad of it.

Battles

The day's work was mostly the killing of the mindless and the hungry. By day's end I had put down sixteen Night Web Spiders and ten of the young ones, thirteen Rattlecage Skeletons, eight Mindless Zombies and eight Wretched Zombies. I also felled twelve Scarlet Converts and three Scarlet Initiates, six Mangy Duskbats, five Ragged Scavengers, two young ones, five Rot Hide Mongrels and three Decrepit Darkhounds.

I killed Meven Korgal, the Scarlet messenger, at the Crusader camp. He cried out that the Scarlet Crusade would not fail in its mission. Near Garren's Haunt the Rot Hide gnolls snarled that I was fresh meat, and I found Maggot Eye there as well.

Deeds

Shadow Priest Sarvis was done with me once I had thinned the Rattlecages. He said I had shown myself worthy of the freedom I'd been given. Novice Elreth wanted paws and wings for armor, and she sent me after Samuel Fipps to grant Marla's last wish. Aramis Hammerhand asked me to heal the wounded, to find a frightened paladin in the hills, and to free the webbed victims in the Hollow. The frightened paladin cried out for me to get away, and Aramis said that sometimes the best we can do is grant a clean end. Deathguard Saltain wanted scavenged goods.

Executor Arren had me kill spiders in the Hollow, then Scarlet zealots, then Meven Korgal. I carried the documents to Executor Zygand in Brill. I stole pumpkins for Apothecary Johaan and brought gloom weed from Gordo to Junior Apothecary Holland, who had no need of it and wanted doom weed instead. I delivered a letter to Innkeeper Renee. She was rude about it. I then returned the paw of Maggot Eye to Executor Zygand, who thanked me on behalf of Brill.

I also finished the tasks for Eleanor Shackleton, Shari Stilwell and William Pickman. By evening I had taken new requests from Gretchen Dedmar and Coleman Farthing, none yet done.

Fellowship

Most of my day was spent among the Forsaken, and the few who spoke to me were gruff. One injured deathguard told me to begone, paladin, but later thanked me. A forsaken warrior joined me near Garren's Haunt. I said "nice" and "tyh ty" when he left. Near the Ruins of Lordaeron I stood talking with a few strangers about horror films and shows. I said "top 3 horror film for me".

Spoils & Craft

William Pickman taught me cooking, and I learned to make a basic campfire, charred wolf meat, roasted boar meat and herb baked egg. Later I learned crispy bat wing. In Undercity, Basil Frye taught me blacksmithing, including copper bracers and a rough copper vest. Armand Cromwell taught me fishing, and Nurse Neela's trade, first aid, taught me to make linen bandages. Novice Elreth gave me armor, and she gave me a manual that taught me mining and smelting copper. Deathguard Saltain handed me one of the better items he'd found.

Growth

I grew stronger through the day, and felt it each time. My mace skill and defense rose steadily. Aramis Hammerhand's training gave me Devotion Aura, Holy Light, Judgement and Blessing of Might. Later I learned Divine Protection, Holy Strike and Seal of the Crusader. Pain came with the light, as he had warned.
