A Short Rest at Camp Narache
A brief, merry spell of jokes and dancing at Camp Narache, and a quiet look from the heights of Red Cloud Mesa.
The Road
The midday sun stood high over Camp Narache when I set down my pack, and I did not stay long in one place. I walked up to Red Cloud Mesa and paused there to take in the view, the grass rolling away beneath the wind. It was a place new to me, and I will remember it. Then I came back down to Camp Narache, and that was the whole of my short wandering today.
Fellowship
There was no one in particular to share the morning with, but I did not let that dampen my spirits. I told a joke, then another, then a third, to whoever might be listening. Then I burst into dance, hooves stamping the dust of the camp.
