A Short Breath at Red Cloud Mesa
A brief hour of jests and dancing at Camp Narache, and a pause to take in the view from Red Cloud Mesa.
The Road
The midday sun stood high over Camp Narache when I set down my pack and my thoughts. Before long I wandered up to Red Cloud Mesa, a place new to me, and paused there to take in the view. The grass moved in long waves below, and the wind carried the smell of earth and open sky. Then I made my way back to Camp Narache, and the day's travels ended where they began.
